Five years after the World Championship, the city of Fabriano -in central Italy- hosted the sixth round of the Enduro Italian Championship.
The race, organized with the utmost attention to the Covid-19 regulations, was on a route of about 50 km to be repeated 4 times: one Enduro Test, one Cross Test and one Extreme Test, for a total of 12 special test and over 200 km.
Starting in dry conditions, Honda RedMoto World Enduro Team riders faced the race in mixed conditions with heavy rain and a very slippery ground.
Theo Espinasse had a great performance, finishing close to the podium of the Overall and foreigner’s standings. The French rider ended 4th with excellent time laps, especially in the extreme and cross test, where he got the best time right on the last lap.
16th position for Rony Kytonen, who struggled with the rain and the slippery ground.
Unlucky day for Thomas Oldrati, who was forced to the withdraw after a bad crash during the second enduro test. He has suffered a small fracture of the left sternoclavicular articulation and on Monday he will undergo further investigations.
Next round of the Enduro Italian Championships will be on 6th June in Sarnico, near Brescia.

Gli Assoluti d’Italia Enduro hanno fatto tappa a Fabriano, in provincia di Ancora, per il quarto appuntamento di questa stagione 2021, valido come sesta giornata di gara. Un ritorno in grande stile in una città cara all’enduro dopo la prova del Campionato Mondiale nel 2016. Una gara, quella di oggi, organizzata con la massima attenzione per le norme anti Covid-19 e strutturata su un Enduro Test, Cross Test e Extreme Test da ripetere 4 volte, per un totale di 12 prove speciali e oltre 200 km.
Partiti in condizioni di asciutto, i piloti di Honda RedMoto World Enduro Team hanno affrontato una giornata di gara in cui si sono alternati forti scrosci di pioggia che hanno reso il terreno molto scivoloso.
Grande performance a un passo dal podio della classifica assoluta e di quella riservata agli stranieri per Theo Espinasse. Il francese ha saputo interpretare al meglio il percorso, concludendo in 4° posizione con ottimi tempi, soprattutto nella estrema e nella cross, dove ha registrato il miglior tempo nel corso dell’ultimo giro.
16° posizione per Rony Kytonen, più in difficoltà con la pioggia e il terreno scivoloso.
Giornata sfortunata per Thomas Oldrati, che è stato purtroppo costretto al ritiro dopo una brutta caduta nel corso del secondo enduro test. Il pilota delle Fiamme Oro ha rimediato una piccola frattura dell’articolazione sterno-clavicolare sinistra e nella giornata di lunedì si sottoporrà ad ulteriori accertamenti.
Il prossimo appuntamento con i Campionati Assoluti d’Italia Enduro è il 6 giugno a Sarnico (BS).
