Tough Slovakia Grand Prix for Honda Racing World Enduro Team

The fifth round of the FIM EnduroGP World Championship in Gelnica, Slovakia, which hosted a World GP for the second year in a row. 70 km route with four special tests to be repeated three times a day for a total of 210 km per day: Extreme test, Cross test, Enduro1, and Enduro2. A very tough and technical Grand Prix, made even more difficult by the rain of Sunday. The race, unfortunately, began with the tragic death of Jaroslav Diro, rider of the Open 4T class, during the Super Test.

Thomas Oldrati was out of the way following the injury to the right shoulder during training. Unlucky Saturday for Nathan Watson, who hit a tree at the third Extreme Test and his shoulder came out. The British rider finished 5th, while on Sunday he could not do better than P6 due to severe pain. Double 6th for Manolo Morettini in the Junior 1.

“Tough race. Yesterday I started good, but in the last extreme test I hit a tree and my shoulder came out. I managed to finish the day but I had no power today”.

Manolo Morettini | Junior | Day1 > 10° | Day2  > 9°
EJ1 | Day1 > 6° | Day2  > 6°

“I had a good pace this weekend, but a mistake on both days affected the final result. It was another good experience”.

In the second line-up another good 6th and 4th position for Samuele Bernardini in E2, while in E1 Rony Kytonen finished 7th and 5th. Training race for Francesca Nocera, who raced in the Open 4s and finished 14th on Saturday, while on Sunday she had to stop due to the extreme conditions caused by the heavy rain.
